Commissioned artwork details for Clive Kay Clive, who is frequently asked to do commission work, prefers to paint African subjects, but has successfully painted North American wildlife as well. The first step in this process is to find out, in as much detail as possible, what the client has in mind: the animal or animals, position, habitat, time of the day, season, etc. Clive and the client then discuss and agree on a size and price of a painting. The third step is the completion of a detailed drawing, which is presented in the size of the finished artwork. The client is free to request any changes to this drawing. When agreement is reached on the plan, Clive is in a position to give an approximate completion date for the original painting. A 10% deposit is required, which is deducted from the final payment. This deposit is non-refundable in the event that the client does not wish to keep the finished artwork. When the painting is completed, the client receives an enlarged photograph and slide of the artwork. If any changes are possible before delivery, they can be requested at this time. All artwork is suitably framed before delivery. The final payment is due upon delivery of the painting.
The following table shows
the approximate prices for commissioned artwork. Please note, however,
that the price will vary according to subject matter. All prices are
shown in US dollars (USD), to be converted into pounds sterling at the
exchange rate prevailing at the time of payment. Packing, carriage and
insurance are additional to the prices shown below and are charged at cost.
