Wildlife
artist Barbara Perrier presents for you a canvas inspired by her love of
nature. She has very deep concerns over the ever increasing list of
Endangered Species. Her Art expresses the anguish of seeing habitat and the
animals who dwell therein diminish. Her desire is to call your attention to
the beauty of these animals that are so precious that to lose them would be
a great loss for all future generations.
Born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Southern California, she
showed artistic talent at an early age. Her goal is to put you in that
special time and place with emotional impact. "I
love to go out into the Mountains, Forest, Desert, anywhere away from the
city, to photograph and sketch what I observe, be it a tree, rocky ledge,
flower or, if you are very quiet, perhaps an animal will come by. I soak up
these moments like a sponge, the way the light creates patterns, the
colours, how the atmosphere causes the hills to recede into the far
distance, then I come back to my studio and apply to the canvas this
experience to share with you."
Barbara is past president of the California Gold Coast Water
Color Society and also of the Wildlife Artist Association, having served in
1995 and 1996. Through many Art Shows, the WAA has raised funds by which
many wildlife rehabilitation and captive breeding programmes have benefited.
"I love to see collectors of my art at these
shows; we share a common bond. Getting to meet them and hear how much they
have enjoyed living with various paintings I have created is a thrill."
In December 1999, she was honoured to be inducted into the
Wildlife Artist Association "Hall of Fame". She continues to do oil on
canvas, some watercolour and mixed media, participating in various art shows
as well as specialising in Web Site Design.
We feature on this website Barbara’s Iris Giclée museum
quality prints from Original Oil or Watercolour Paintings, printed to the
size of the original work of art. Some of the original paintings are
available for sale being recently completed or having just been released
from the artist’s private collection. Please enquire as to availability.
The photo prints are 16in x 20in and are printed on archival paper for
decorative images at an affordable price.
Selected images are
reproduced as giclée prints on fine canvas, with a Damar Varnish finish.
Wildlife photo prints are printed on high quality paper, which must adhere
to the archival standards of quality set by the Artist. All original oil
paintings are produced using only professional grade oils and canvas, after
which a non-yellowing Damar Varnish is applied to the painting to protect it
for decades.
